~Vintage Ironing Board~

I went to the Vintage Marketplace at the Oaks in June this year.

Rita Reade of Mammabellarte puts on the best Vintage Marketplace I've ever gone to.

It's in Fallbrook, California.

I bought this beautiful antique ironing board from Sara of Sweet Magnolias Farm.

You can't find the old wooden ones anymore. 

So when I spotted this one I knew I had to have it.

I love how she made the ironing board cover with the floral material.

She makes the cutest towels.

I had to get the clothespin holder.

I love how she uses lace and adds her perfect touch to all her items.

She even added lace to the cover. I found the old iron at a thrift store and stamped some clothespins. 

I found this old shopping cart at 

Urban Barn in Escondido.

Now all I need is my clothesline.

 I'm working on my husband to put one up.

I know just the place.

Can't wait for the next show in Fallbrook

 on Sept. 7th & 8th.

~Velvet Alphabet Pumpkins~

I love velvet and pumpkins, so I couldn't wait to do a project with both.

I used a bowl as my pattern.

Cut my circle out.

I sewed a straight stitch.

Placed some beans on the bottom for weight.

Stuffed the top with poly-fil and closed up the top.

I used some twigs from the garden.

I got the beads from Michael's Craft Store.

Boo!

Bat!

I wanted to make a lady scarecrow 

for the pumpkin patch in our garden.

I was going with the rustic farmer girl look. 

I used a topiary for her head.

I measured a round circle and cut the burlap.

My husband Stan cut a cross out of wood stakes and made the shape of her.

I went to thrift stores and found old clothes.

I stuffed her with a little straw.

I used a grapevine wreath for her head and some green crystal beads to put around it.

I found the perfect sunflower apron and a necklace to go with it.

We used spanish moss for her hair.

I used black marker for her eyes and nose.

Real lipstick for her lips.

She's the perfect Scarecrow.

~Vintage Pumpkins~

I found some vintage material at Hart's Fabric Store and wanted to make something for Halloween. 

I used different size bowls as my pattern for the pumpkins.

I stitched around the pumpkin so I could pull the thread tight to close it.

I used kitty litter but you can also use rice or beans. 

It is a good idea to have some weight to the bottom of the pumpkin. I only filled 1/3 of it.

I stuffed the top part with poly-fil and placed the chalk in the middle and stitched it closed.

I found different accessories at the craft store to use for the stems and embellishments. 

I love the vintage material.

I love summer.

I have a collection of cloches and always love displaying them.

The bee stepping stones give the area some whimsy in the garden.

I always like a little change to the garden to make it more fun.

I love when the sunshines on them.
