~Projects With The Paintbrush and Simple & Sweet Fridays~

I have seen so many blogs that have displayed ladders in their homes or in their gardens. Painting them different colors and placing flowers, books or collectibles on them.
Someone was going to throw this one away, so I rescued it from the trash and brought it home. I took out my Annie Sloan "Old White" Chalk Paint and dry brushed a coat of paint on it.
I really liked how the paint gave it a vintage look.
I put it inside first, to see if I liked it.
Then I tried it outside, next to our old screen doors.
I had painted them with Annie Sloan "Duck Egg" Chalk Paint.
I love the old glass door knob.
I'm still deciding which spot I like the best.
I wanted to share with you this next idea. I thought it would be a great afternoon project for  kids.
I bought a galvanized watering can and painted it with some white paint.
Then I took a marker and just sketched on the can.
The kids could draw anything and then have
their own watering can for the garden.
A Simple Fun Project!

Happy Thursday everyone!

~Our Vacation in Squaw Valley & Our Nephew's Wedding~

Stan and I went to Squaw Valley for vacation and
also went to my nephew, Beau's wedding in
Reno for Memorial Weekend.
We saw where the 1960 Winter Olympics were,
it was so beautiful.

I loved seeing all the old buildings and scenery.

This is a photo of my sister, Bernadette,
her son Beau, and her husband John.
This is our other nephew, John and his wife, Molly.
Their brand new 4 day old baby, Carter, and daughter Sophia and son Nolan.
Our niece, Jenay,
and my sister-in-law, Nancy before the wedding.
Nicole's bouquet was so pretty.
I love the wedding wreath on the door.
Everything looked so beautiful at Nicole's house.
Her mother, Sally, had made these cute flower seed favors.
Nicole's dress was gorgeous!

~Cooking with Flowers and Simple & Sweet Fridays #64~

I bought the new cookbook,
"Cooking with Flowers"
by Miche Bacher of Mali B Sweets.
All the recipes looked so good.

I had to make the chocolate and lavender biscotti.
A very easy recipe and they were delicious!
Wrapped them up and gave them to friends.
The next recipe I made was a Borage Spritzer.
Combine 1/2 cup Borage Basil Simple Syrup

1/2 cup Borage Vodka

3 cups Seltzer Water
8 Cucumber Slices
8 Basil Leaves

Borage Ice Cubes

A wonderful refreshing drink for Springtime!
