~Happy Birthday Parties and Simple & Sweet Fridays #239~

~My Family~
Scott, Katie, Me, Stan and Carly
I wanted to share with you,
I had two wonderful birthday parties this week to
celebrate my 65th birthday.
This weekend my family had a surprise birthday party
 for me at our home.
It was a wonderful celebration where all my friends and family
helped put it on.
They worked on it for weeks and the weather was perfect!

Kaylee working on the flower arrangements
and Stan in the background.
Leeanne and Virginia doing their magic with flowers!!
My friend, Mary, cooked the main courses.
Chicken Cacciatore, Lasagna Bolognese and Italian Sausage.
My friends, Linda and Yuri, cooked all the vegetable dishes and made the salads!
I had lots of wonderful food and will have more photos to share soon!
We all had such a wonderful night!
A special birthday cake!!
My friend, Mary, gave me a party at her house earlier in the week.
This gorgeous cake was made by her!
I'll share lots of photos soon!!

I wanted to add that I have been having trouble with joining a lot of your blogs later and here is why.
I hope you'll bear with me while I try and fix this issue.
This is from Google:

Dear bloggers,

As we mentioned some weeks ago, starting this week, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. To follow a blog via Google Friend Connect now, readers will need a Google Account (the same they use for Gmail or YouTube). There will be no need for readers to be signed in, or to have a Google+ profile.

  • What does  this mean for you and your blog? We’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count

  • What can you do now? You should encourage your users to re-follow your blog using a Google account. Another way to allow users to follow your blog is with the  “Follow by Email” gadget, which  requires you to set up Feedburner. By subscribing to your blog, readers will be notified via e-mail every time there is a new post.
  • To install the “Follow by Email” gadget:
    • Go to blogger.com and choose the blog you want to install the gadget
    • On the left menu, click on Layout
    • Once in the layout page, click on add a gadget
    • Find the “Follow by email” gadget and click on the + sign next to it

  • Choose the title of the gadget but don’t change your Feedburner URL
  • Click on Save and then Save arrangement on the top right corner.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Thank you

Thank you again for all your wonderful ideas every week!!

~Happy 1st Day of Fall and Simple & Sweet Fridays # 238~

Happy 1st day of Fall!!
We're so excited that we got rain on Tuesday too!
The garden definitely needs it.
Decorating the house with lots of foliage from the garden.
I love the light green color from the eucalyptus leaves.
The cinderella pumpkin that we grew in the garden
looks so pretty with lights on it!
I picked baby boo pumpkins and butternut squash from the garden  to display with the Fall wreath.
I added lights to our buffet with leaves and a wheat bundle.
Putting some refreshments out for a fun weekend.
I wanted to tell you it's my birthday on Friday!!
Our kids will all be home to celebrate my 65th!!
Where did the time go?
I made this wreath with peach and creme roses from Michael's, Love the colors.
I added eucalyptus sprigs and green berries.
I love how it turned out!
I love amaranth flowers for Fall arrangements.
I bought some plants last year but they never came up.
Red apples add a wonderful glow to a wooden bowl.
I put out my velvet pumpkins I made last year.
I thought some bling on them would be a special touch.
My whimsical birds on the candelabra with dried hydrangeas & lights make up a Fall vignette.

I love how simple the photo looks with just some silver eucalyptus.
I had to buy some pumpkin cream cheese muffins at Trader Joe's.
They are very tasty!
I made Pumpkin bread.
I bought the bakeware at Home Goods.
It looks like a magical carriage!
I found this recipe on pinterest and had to try it.

They were delicious!
Here's the recipe;
Hope you like it!
I wanted to stamp and watercolor.
We are harvesting lots of different vegetables and fruits this year.
Here are a few!
Olives from our olive tree.

Eggplant
Zucchini
Tomatoes
Different Lettuce
Radicchio
Our Pomegranate Tree
We'll have lots this winter.
Broccoli
Grape Tomatoes
Of course, our pumpkins are still growing everywhere in the garden.
I wanted to show you we added a pumpkin
in a pot in our front yard.
I just added the little pumpkins for color
until the pumpkin grows!

What have you been working on this week?
I just love all the creative ideas and recipes you've shared.
It's always so inspiring for the holidays!
Thank you again for always stopping by every week with your amazing ideas!!
