Celery Rose and Simple & Sweet Fridays #47

I saw an idea for a table runner for Valentine's Day
 and wanted to try and make it.
A celery stalk painted gives you the shape of a rose.
I used red paint and tied the stalks together with a rubber band.
I painted on poster paper to see how it would turn out,
but you can use any fabric.
I just had fun with it and stamped it everywhere.
Some roses had more paint, 
which looks like part of the pattern.
I put together a Valentine's Vignette for the kitchen.
I think I will try a summer theme next time, 
maybe yellow or purple.

    I love this idea! I make celery stuffed with cream cheese and herbs and form them into roses, (A Table for Rue, Please. blog) but never thought about using the celery for crafting. Thank you so much for sharing this. I can't wait to give it a try.

    The celery rose is beautiful! Wouldn't it be fun to stamp some white tissue paper and use it to line the inside of boxed gift for someone special or to use as the wrapping paper. My mind is spinning, & I'm eyeing a fresh bunch of celery in the fridge that I haven't cut up yet -- who wants to eat it when you can craft with it?     Wow, who knew???? The celery stalk works like a stencil! A beautiful rose, so simple. I have to try this and see if mine will look at good as yours. I wonder if it would work on fabric?
