~Holiday Wax Fire Starters and Simple & Sweet Fridays #189~

I've been wanting to make some wax fire starters for the Fall.
Since the weather has been so hot in San Diego,
I was dreaming of a beautiful bon fire
we could have on the beach soon.
I know the time will change November 1st.
Even though I don't like it getting dark earlier,
I can't wait for cooler nights!!
Our family always loves to have a fire in the Fall.
It tells us the holidays are near!!
Homemade wax fire starters are perfect
for a camp fire or outdoor fire.
Easy to use, just place between dry logs and light the wick.
Great holiday gift too!
These are not for a gas fireplace or interior wood stove.
I bought a cupcake pan at the dollar store and
had some candle wicks for a project.

I used some small pumpkin acorns, fresh bay leaves and cinnamon sticks and pine cones.
I added them all to some melted candle wax carefully
 poured into the cupcake tins.
They turned out so pretty!!
I wanted to use some antique molds.
I love their shape and thought they would look pretty too!

I'm so ready for the holidays now!!
Found a special Fall treat!
I love Trader Joe's!!
They're a festive look for the holidays!!
This was a fun and easy project!

Looking forward to seeing all your inspiring ideas
 and goodies this week!!

  11. Oh, I just love these beautiful fire starters...what great gifts they would make! As I scrolled my way down your post I was pleasantly surprised by a certain little fireplace clock! OH MY GOODNESS! You have to come visit me and click on the link to my other blog...http://debbysmemories.blogspot.com/2012/11/its-about-time.html. I grew up with this clock in my house and I continue to find another one in good shape. You are the first person that I have ever known other than myself to own one of these unique clocks! Happy Thursday :)

  25. Oh, thank you for posting this Jody! How did you know I have been wanting to make these this year? I can only imagine how great they will smell when you start your fires. As you know I'm quite north of you and this morning it was only 30 degrees, so it's been fire time here this week :)
