For Stan's birthday
we bought him a Salt Plate at Williams Sonoma.
We have never cooked on it before and the kids thought he loves
barbecuing. Let's get it for him.
They also had a cookbook with lots of great recipes.
We ended up buying a 8" x 12" plate with holder and
(4) 5" square plates.
He loved the present!
He cooked Scallops with Bacon,
and some steaks.
The meal was delicious!
It gives a little salt favor to whatever you're cooking.
Great present for someone who loves barbecuing.
We also made dessert
Salted Chocolate Brownies with Pistachio Gelato.
Chill the salt blocks at least 1 hour before using.
We made chocolate brownies and I bought some Pistachio Gelato.
Chop up some pistachios and chocolate to garnish the top.
Drizzle some melted chocolate.
Serve on the salt blocks.
You'll feel like you just went to the best restaurant!!
Forgot to tell you we also made homemade Focaccia too!!
Wow, what a meal!!
Here's some photos outside in the backyard.

Can you see the pumpkin vines?
I thought I'd plant some extra Jack-Be-Little Pumpkins for the
for the holidays coming up!
All the kids will be here for Thanksgiving, can't wait!
Hope you're all surviving this hot summer we've had.
Looking forward to seeing your crafts and projects for the

You take the most beautiful pictures, I always enjoy scrolling thru your posts. Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I've never heard of a salt plate. I like to BBQ so I'll have to look into that. Like how the smaller pieces won't slip in between the grill racks.
ReplyDeleteNo need to go to a restaurant with food like this. Love the dahlias.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.

I love scallops! Hubby is a scuba diver and we are on long island now where he dives in the ocean. He went out Wednesday and brought home a dozen scallops- I didn't have bacon but added them to the pan and what a treat!
