~Easter Celebration~

I wanted to share some of the things we baked for Easter.
Carly found shredded Filo Dough for us to make Easter nests.
It's amazing to me what you can find on the internet.
We added candied eggs.

A simple elegant dessert.
Next time I'll try it with fruit and ice cream.
We found some organic heirloom carrots at Trader Joe's
and made some
Carrot-Thyme Soup.
Our son, Scott made fresh Sour Dough Bread.
I made individual Easter sweet breads for everyone.
A tradition my mother would always make for the holiday.
Carly and I colored eggs and placed them in the center of them.

A festive addition to the meal.
Scott had brought us artichokes from Watsonville.

For the main entree, I made
Cornish Game Hens Stuffed with Wild Rice.
It was a delicious Easter dinner.
We celebrated later with some Strawberry Daiquiris by the pool.
The weather was perfect in the 80's.
Hope you all had a
wonderful holiday with friends and family!

~Easter Surprises and Simple & Sweet Fridays #161~

Happy Easter!
I can't believe Easter is this Sunday.
I'm finally finished my handmade Easter bunny.
I've been so busy with the kids at home and getting the house decorated.
I thought this is one thing I wanted to accomplish.
A cute handmade rabbit for my hutch!
,
A little nose with some black embroidery yarn.
So happy,
I finally finished something before the holiday.
He fits right in,
to the Potager look I wanted.
I also finished a chick I started last year with yarn.
A Martha Stewart project.
So happy I finally finished her too!!
She is so pretty!!
I found these cute rabbit things at
Roger's Garden in
 Corona Del Mar.
Paper napkins and a kitchen towel.
I fell in love and had to have them.
I designed the Easter table with them.

I stamped some bags to display the antique silverware.
When I took a photograph I noticed it all ties in.
Pots to have name tags displayed in them.

A basket in the center of the table filled with
cabbages, eggplant, and carrots.
\
I found the cute chalkboard name tags at Michael's.
 I dyed eggs in vegetables
and our
Ameraucana chicken eggs will be perfect for Easter.
Lots of Easter displays everywhere!!

I made sugar cookies with edible paper from Fancy Flours.
Pretty designs for everyone!!
Strawberry cupcakes will be a wonderful dessert for Easter!
Hope you all have a Happy Easter!!
