~A Special Birthday Crown and Simple & Sweet Fridays~

I wanted to share a special birthday crown,
 I made for a friend.
I knew it had to be a one-of-a-kind,
just like her.
A sparkle heart, pink roses and tulle all around.
I tried it on all my favorite models.
It looked very pretty on all of them.
I found a pedestal to display it on,
 for the party.
I really enjoyed making it.
After I saw it on my friend, Yuri,
I knew it just fit.
She looked like a princess!!
I wrapped her presents up with a special touch...
Some ribbon stamped with love.
I found the cutest card.
I wish I could have made this,
love the detail.
By the way, she loves shoes!!
I made a flower for one of her presents.
I stamped 4 different colored tissues, then cut them out.
Then curled the ends of the flower with a pencil,
then used a glittered button to put it all together.
Another package I just used tulle
and a simple white butterfly from Michael's.
Love it!!
I cut fresh flowers from the garden to bring to the hostess, Virginia.
The party was so much fun.
Virginia, Tami, Mary, Me, Linda and the birthday girl, Yuri.
Love celebrating birthdays with my girlfriends.

Have a great weekend!

~Making Kitchen Garden Salad Baskets For Friends~

I wanted to share with you an idea I had.
To make Kitchen Garden Salad Baskets as gifts for friends.
I love making handmade gifts.
I collect baskets from garage sales and thrift stores,
you can find some at a great price.
You know I love to garden.
 So why not,
give the gift of a Green Kitchen Garden.
It's organic!!
I soaked some moss to add to the finished baskets.
I lined the baskets with some black heavy duty garbage bags,
then filled the baskets with soil.
The nursery had lots of beautiful varieties of lettuce.
Pansies are edible and add lots of color to the baskets.
I listed the different lettuce on a handmade tag,
just in case they wanted to buy more.
A chalkboard sign was just what the baskets needed.
A Simple Kitchen Garden Salad for my Friends.
Of course,
I made one for me too!!
I had some baskets laying around
that needed some extra help!
I used snapdragons, parsley,
and bacopa.
I filled the basket with pansies and moss.
A handwritten sign and it looks brand new again!!
I wanted to make a Herb basket too.
There's nothing like fresh herbs,
 right from your kitchen!!
I decided the handle needed a little extra touch.
Some fresh cut rosemary tied with some jute around it.
Looks so pretty and smells so good.
A chalkboard sign for it.
You can always handstamp some wine corks
to place in the baskets too.
It adds a little whimsy!
Now, I have Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme in my Kitchen.
Don't you love that song from Simon and Garfunkel!!
I hope you liked all the baskets.
My friends loved theirs.
I had to make a salad for dinner with
all the goodies from my new garden.

~Madeleines and Simple & Sweet Fridays #99~

I love Madeleines.
They are a delicious light butter cake.
I haven't made them in awhile.
I made some orange glaze to put on top.

It's a wonderful Parisian dessert.
I made a small latte too.
It was heaven
Outside was a beautiful 80 degrees in San Diego.
Our small olive tree looks so cute with olives on it this year.
Lily of the Valley
The Calliandra Haemat is in full bloom.
It's also known as the "Pink Powder Puff".
So pretty, just in time for Valentine's Day.
Putting out some of my holiday decorations.
I'll share more soon with you!
I'm working on a special crown
for a friend's birthday this weekend.
Just started and have lots of ideas of how to decorate it!!
I'll also share that with you next week too!
Hope she likes it.

What have you been working on lately,
can't wait to see!!
