I finally signed up for a calligraphy class I've been wanting to take.
I took a course at a college nearby years ago
and wanted a refresher class.
I heard from a friend, Paper Tales had a class.
So, I signed up our daughter, Carly and her friend, Leeanne to go with me.
It was a birthday present for Leeanne!
There's something about using a pen and ink,
I love it!!
Lots of fun girls in the class.
Carly enjoyed learning something new.
April Joy taught the class.
If you haven't taken a calligraphy class,
she's the best teacher!
It's always fun learning a new technique.
April gave us practice sheets and went over how to hold your pen and write on a slant.
Practice is the Key!!
I found some old pens and colored ink that I had from the college calligraphy class.
Can't wait to try more calligraphy!
Calligraphy on colored paper,
Happy Fall!
Thank You April for a fun class!!

What fun times, Jodi! I love calligraphy, and I too, need a refresher course. Happy belated birthday--looks like Stan did an amazing job. And congrats on your travels. I so want to visit London and Paris. I didn't realize you were in San Diego. I am in Ventura County, and yes, this cool weekend was a godsend to this crazy hot, humid summer of endless air conditioning!
ReplyDeleteLove the calligraphy, beautiful work. Have a great trip Stan and Jody!
ReplyDeleteJody, I was driving down the street yesterday and realized I hadn't looked at your blog in awhile. Isn't that weird?! I'm going backwards now.
ReplyDeleteA calligraphy class would be so much fun especially with girlfriends (or a daughter). I'll have to see if something like that is available at Hobby Lobby.
A trip for your birthday is awesome!!
