~Crystallized Edible Flowers & Simple & Sweet Fridays #216~

I've been wanting to make some
crystallized edible flowers!
My flowers were in bloom and I wanted to take advantage.

I just used egg whites and super fine sugar.
Here is one recipe from Martha Stewart

Decorating a chocolate bar makes a special treat!
Lots of ideas on Pinterest!!
Have fun making some pretty desserts with them!!

  7. I have always wanted to give edible flowers a go as well, thanks for sharing Martha's recipe!

  8. Thanks for the feature Jody and I ADORE the sugared flowers, such a delicate beautiful thing. I remember watching Martha make them and it was so dreamy. I just started pressing flowers again. I used to have a wooden contraption for it but am back to using old yellow pages books, works perfectly, and those flowers last years, and can be used on vases, to decorate gift boxes etc....this sounds like a post...sorry......lolol.

  9. Jody & Stan,
The crystallized edible flowers are breathtakingly beautiful, dear friends!
Although, I've seen them on many posts in The Land of Blog,
I must admit, I've never tried to make or taste them.
    Yours are very tempting!
Thank you for hosting Simple and Sweet Fridays! each week!

sending blessings of joy to you

  13. The edible flowers are so sweet, Jody, and the colors are perfect for spring. I absolutely love that Rose paper lantern. I'm wondering if it's homemade or bought? It's so lovely, and would be a great idea for Jess' wedding shower that I'm giving her this summer. Oh my, those cupcakes look delicious. I wish I had one to go with my coffee this morning.

It's always a pleasure when you stop by, Jody, and I appreciate it so much. I didn't realize you grew up in Orange County. Jess loves it there, and visits as often as she can. :)

    Happy Spring!

    love, ~Sheri
