Stan and I just love the Northwest.
He promised me a trip to
Washington and Oregon when he retired.
So, he bought us tickets on Southwest
and we were on the plane last week.
Washington was having their annual
Flower & Garden Show
at the
Washington State Convention Center.
We flew into Seattle
and it was a beautiful clear day.
You could see for miles!!
After we landed,
we decided to take a road trip to one of our favorite nurseries,
Christianson's Nursery in Mt. Vernon.
The weather was just perfect for sightseeing!
It was a photographers dream.
We saw lots of old barns and structures.
We were in Heaven!!
Last year at this same time,
we saw Snow Geese in La Conner and they were back.
Thousands of Snow Geese
migrate each winter to the
Skagit River Valley near La Conner
in Washington State.
There are also Trumpeters and Tundra Swans
which love the rich farmland.
Stan couldn't take enough photos of the birds,
there were so many of them.
Just Beautiful!!
Our next stop was
Christianson's Nursery in Mt. Vernon.
Their Primrose Store
has everything I love!!
We met Laura, who
designs and puts together all their displays.
I just love the pretty vignettes!
Christianson's has the most beautiful Greenhouses.
It was a fun day at the Nursery.
I'll be sharing more photos of our trip on the next post.
~The Northwest Flower & Garden Show~
Christianson's Nursery was there too!!
Another road stop to
Astoria, Oregon!
Can't wait to see what you've
been working on this last week!!

Gros bisous ♡

That nursery is to die for! When you are on a trip it's a little bit of torture to go to some of those places because you can't bring it all home. Right?

ReplyDeleteI love the Pacific Northwest! My mom and dad lived in Lincoln City Ore. and every time I would visit we would go up to Washington and they would take me to all their favorite places up and back. My mother would take me to some wonderful gardens and of course we would have the time of our lives. I haven't been back for yrs since they moved back to Idaho when my father's health got bad. Your photos really make me miss it!

Hi Jody, thank you for the invite to join your lovely party!
ReplyDeleteWOW what a magnificent trip!! The photo's of the barns are just stunning!! We don't have barns like that here in Australia and I love the nursery that you visited!
Have a great Sunday! :-)
Those old barns have a grace and elegance that is hard to define; they harken back to a simpler time I suppose. It is quite sad to see so many of them in such a state of disrepair. The gleaming structures of brick and tin that will eventually replace them will never evoke the same feelings.
