For Christmas our children gave Stan and me a cooking class at
Sur La Table.
The class was
Date Night: An Evening in Paris!
We just went on Sunday and had such a good time.
It was the closest we could get to Paris and
You know how much
I love Paris.
We learned new cooking skills about using different herbs and how to make wonderful recipes.
Chef Andrew Young was very informative
and lots of fun as a teacher.
They had t.v. screens and viewing stations everywhere.
Every couple shared a cooking station, it was a hands on class.
We first made a
Frisee Salad with Champagne-Tarragon Vinaigrette.
It was a very simple salad using fresh greens and fresh herbs.
It was perfect!
Then we made a
Brandied Pear Galette.
We learned how to make a flaky pie dough,
and added some marinated dried currants, brandy, fresh pears, and a little more ingredients
and a delicious Brandied Pear Galette was created!
This was cooking while we made the main course.
The Herbed Chevre Souffle was light and airy.
So Tasty!
We then learned about searing salmon.
And we learned about making the most delicious Beurre blanc sauce which means, "white butter" in French.
The Dish was called
Seared Salmon with Citrus Beurre Blanc.
We had a wonderful meal and we made it ourselves,
the best part! Hope you can experience a cooking class too.
Wishing You All A Wonderful Valentine's!
A special thank you for all your support and inspiring comments.
We've loved each and everyone.
Thank You!
Happy Thursday everyone!
