~Sunday Afternoon in the Garden~

Collecting seeds from our flowers today.
It's that time of year to start.
Stamping glassine bags and dated them for
next year's planting.
I bought a wood burning tool at Michael's last month and started
marking plant tags.
Lots of fun!!
Always time to recycle newspapers for new seedlings.
Chalkboard plant tags are great for the garden
 and can be easily erased.
Can't wait for this year's harvest of our pomegranates.
Looking forward to new recipes with them!!
Our Jack-Be-Little Pumpkins were hiding up on our hill.
I decided to cut them and bring them in the house
for a early Fall decoration.
A much needed Latte and Summer Fruit Crostata
after working in the garden today.
I couldn't resist a photo of Maggie sleeping peacefully after swimming in our pool.
Hope you're all having a nice relaxing weekend!

  2. Jody & Stan,
"Mr. Ed" saves seeds from year~to~year in our Gardens here on the Prairie, too, dear friends!!!
I've made him "envelopes" in the past for saving different varieties of seeds,
but he prefers empty peanut butter jars!!! (What can I say??? Farmer Boy!!!)
Loved seeing your pomegranates and the tiny pumpkins!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  5. Always enjoy your garden. Maggie is a cutie. They look peaceful when they sleep. Don't you wish you could have the ability to sleep like them?

    1. Yes, Cynthia I wish I could sleep so easily. I think the older I get the harder it is to sleep, maybe it's the hot flashes I still get! Thanks so much for stopping by.
