~Simple Winter Mantel & Chocolate Dipped Biscotti~

It's always hard to put everything away from Christmas.
Adding our small boxwood wreaths
on the mantel adds some greenery.

I added some mini lights too!
Fresh cut flowers from the garden .

A very simple Winter mantel.
Since it's been raining in San Diego,
I decided to make some biscotti.
Rachael Ray has a good recipe here:
Some melted chocolate and crushed almonds.
Make a very good Winter treat!
Hope you're all staying warm this winter!

  2. Your mantle is beautiful. I am still finding a little of this and that Christmas decorations to be put away. House now looks so dull. I need to spiffy it up some, but dont know what to do.

The biscotti looks so good and I would love to make some, but it's diet time now and I have to stay with the program.

Loving the rain and looking forward to some more starting tomorrow night.

    Have a terrific week.

  5. I think you've made a wonderful transition. There is still the magic with the lights and crown and the warmth of the holiday with the wreath without being overly "Christmas Leftovers!" It's really lovely, Jody. Nice indeed.

And thanks for stopping by the Gypsy. I always appreciate your comments!

  7. It is hard to put away all our beautiful Christmas decorations. I finally got the top of a cabinet cleaned off from Christmas decor now trying to decide what to put up.
Your plain green wreaths are still pretty

  10. Your mantle is pure magic Jody! I sure am slow at getting back into the fluffing the home for January, but your post has inspired me to do something about it :)))
I am feeling better, thank goodness! I had to have some surgery and the recovery has taken so darn long that I am itching to get back to life. I knew I had to have it, so I chose winter do do it so it didn't keep me from the garden (I know you get that).
    The biscotti looks sooo yummy!

  13. Another item in your house I'm drooling over, the lady statue with the pearls. I actually have been looking around for one just like it, but haven't found any I like enough to bring home. Your mantel looks very nice, and the pink rose is lovely. Oh, that biscotti looks so good. Wish I had one to go with my coffee right now. I'm glad you got some rain too in San Diego. The Lord has blessed us with lots of rain.

    love, ~Sheri
