~The Forest Feast Gatherings Book, Autumn Mannequin & Succulent Pumpkin and Simple & Sweet Fridays #245~

I wanted to share with you the new book,
~The Forest Feast Gatherings~
It's written by Erin Gleeson.
She also has written;
~The Forest Feast for Kids~
and
~The Forest Feast~
Simple Vegetarian Recipes
from My Cabin in the Woods
I found these paper placemats from a paper store which are inspired by
Erin Gleeson's books.
There are 5 placemat designs.
Erin Gleeson does the photography, recipes, illustrations,
food styling and text in all of her books.
Her books have wonderful recipes and
creative ideas to decorate your table.
I was inspired by her books to set a table for Fall with flowers from our garden.

I think it came together nicely!
I just love Erin Gleeson's books and hope you do too.

Our mannequin is dressed up for Fall.
My friend, Virginia, made this crown for me.
It fits perfect on the Autumn mannequin.
I tied Fall branches with jute.
Added a green burlap bow.
~ Rose Hips~

I also made some succulent pumpkins.
Hot glued the succulents and moss.
A pretty Autumn display!

~Zucchini-Olive Oil Cake and Simple & Sweet Fridays #244~

I've been wanting to make a olive oil cake for awhile now and saw this recipe in my
Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, August, 2016 issue.
I loved how the recipe calls for zucchini in it.
Since we have yellow and green zucchini growing in our garden,
I used both of them for the cake.
You can get the recipe here:
I used olive leaves from our garden and
fresh figs were added for garnish.
A pretty carved wooden serving plate to display the cake on.
I bought it on a shopping day at Sur La Table.
My friend, Kim, gave me the old vintage green shutters for a birthday gift. I love them next to our chopping table.
I loved the cake!!
I found different colored vegetables for Autumn recipes.
I love the bright colors!
I can't believe Halloween is over and now the next holiday,
Thanksgiving!!

Looking forward to all your inspiring ideas and recipes for the upcoming celebrations!!
