~Celebrating New Year's Downtown San Diego and Simple & Sweet Fridays #150~

We celebrated New Year's in
downtown San Diego at a high-raise hotel.
It was so much fun seeing the view that night.
It was spectacular!
The lights shining off the hotels made it seem as though we were in Wonderland.
We could see the the beautiful bay and the Coronado Bay Bridge.
The next morning it was just as beautiful.
San Diego is such a wonderful place to live.
The convention center was just across the street and
you could see the tennis courts near the top of the building.

As I was looking out the window,
the trolley was just crossing the water structure in the newly designed water pool.
The views out of our room were just breathtaking!

We had a great view of Coronado.
In the distant you could see the top of the famous
Hotel Del Coronado.
All of our family were there to celebrate.
Our daughter Katie and her boyfriend, Harry from England.
Carly, Stan and Katie.
Carly's boyfriend, Justin took all the family photos.
 Thank you, Justin!!
Me, Katie, Carly and our son, Scott.
It was a memorable night.
San Diego is a wonderful place to celebrate the New Year 2015!!

~January in the Garden~

After the holiday,
we always look forward to how the garden changes.
The garden comes alive with all the purple cabbages.
The lemons give that pop of yellow.
We're starting new vegetables to plant in the raised beds.

Broccoli was ready to pick.
It was delicious!
Purple Heirloom Broccoli
Cheddar Broccoli
Our Italian parsley is growing out of control.

Cabbages here and there add color.
Artichokes are doing very well after the rain in San Diego.
Tuscan kale, dinosaur kale, sage and delphinium in
our octagon shaped raised bed.
A view of our hill after the trees were trimmed for spring.
Love the brick planter.
Pumpkins lined up near our dwarf apple trees.
Some fresh baked loaves of bread.
Salmon to grill with fresh vegetables
to end a day in the garden.
