Stan and I designed two kitchen gardens
near our house, so it would be easy to harvest.
We planted different varieties of vegetables and
of course, cabbage.
It took us about 4 weeks of planning and
working on both areas.
We did all the work ourselves.
Stan added more brick and stepping stones to the area. Then added
soil, compost and rototilled.
We're looking forward to fresh salads and vegetables everyday this winter.
I took these photos this morning.
The cabbages are doing great and
getting bigger day by day.
It's just the way we wanted it
and it looks so pretty too!

Hi Jody, your kitchen gardens are fabulous. I would be making salads everyday just about if I had one. :) Thanks for hosting Sweet & Simple Fridays. xo
ReplyDeleteWow! Your kitchen gardens are sooo lovely. There was obviously a lot of thought put into the designs. I'm a gardener myself, but our winters are snow covered so we're already looking forward to spring. Love those huge cabbages.. and sweet alyssum (that's what it looks like) is one of my favourites. Thanks so much for the feature! It's always a pleasure to join the party.
ReplyDeleteTuula :)
I love your garden! That's one area I still have to dream about. Yours is so, so lovely and will be wonderful for this winter.

OMG THIS IS STUPENDOUS! THE COLORS! I'm sorry I'm not yelling with the cap,s I'm just super excited! I ADORE people who garden and this garden is SIMPLY STUNNING WITH THE COLORS~! I'm always trying to create gardens that grow veggies to eat all year from and I'm having a hard time in south Florida, as I'm not into chemical but I compost alot and use that but I'm still having one good year then not....I love this! Is that drip irrigation? I must look into that. I also do it in patches that are easy to access from all sections to get to what is growing. OMG I'm so loving this! I also have the same lion head fountain there, I spotted it :D, I put lights in the bottom tier, looks so nice at night. I keep it running since we got it years ago. I can't stop staring at the cabbages! they remind me of exotic huge green roses LOL....You deserve to be very proud of this, I wish everyone gardened their own foods! Loving it, lady
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great garden. I love the cabbage. It took a lot of work to get to this point and I can see the smiles on your faces. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens are wonderful you gave me some new ideas for when I redo my garden area next year. I have brick to go all around my garden boxes I'm just missing the boyfriend who's going to cooperate.
