~Belmont Park at Mission Beach~

Over the Christmas Holiday,
 we visited Belmont Park at
Mission Beach.
  1. Belmont Park is a historic oceanfront amusement park located in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, California. The park was developed by sugar magnate John D. Spreckels and opened on July 4, 1925 as the Mission Beach Amusement Center.
Stan and Scott brought their bikes to ride.
    While they were riding,
Carly and I took Maggie for a walk.
It was such a beautiful day,
as we walked we admired all the different beach houses.
One house had the biggest sunflower I've ever seen growing in December.
Each house had a unique garden.

We were so lucky with the weather.

In the park was this giant fun ball with someone in it.
I definitely would get dizzy rolling around in this.
Maggie had a great time enjoying the sunshine.
We met up with Stan and he let Maggie run on the beach.
    Fun Family Day!!

  2. I love that photo with the boats! It looks like you had a wonderful time. The ball...I don't know how they do it. I too would be dizzy, also hot!

  3. Thanks for the memories.

Steve and I were married in Pacific Beach and spent the first few years of our married life in Mission Beach. We lived in both North and South Mission. We used to ride our bicycles along the beach and peek into the windows of the ocean front houses. We dreamed of living on the ocean front one day. We were sad when Steve was transferred to Ventura because we loved Mission Beach. Whenever we visit San Diego we always take a drive down Mission Boulevard. We are lucky that the transfer was also to a beach town and we love living in Ventura today.

  5. Your recent posts have made me so nostalgic. Big Basin and Mission Beach are both old stomping grounds of mine, and you're filling my head with good memories.

  7. What a wonderful outing! I just loved that natural tree umbrella over the table and chairs, and that blue and white house with such an inviting porch ~ I wouldn't mind whiling away the hours there! So nice that Maggie could come with you and enjoy the day and a beach run.

  8. Oh Jody, I used to live close to San Diego. It's the most charming place. We used to go to old town where they would have lots of festivities all the time. I've never been to Belmont Park before. It looks so interesting and fun. And the day looked like a sunny one for you, as many days are in San Diego. The homes you have on here are lovely, and my husband would love to have a beach house like this. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place.

Happy New Year to you both.

  10. What a fun day! Do you find it strange to see all the wintry weather photos on non-California blogger's sites?
Looking at your sunny sea and sky photos seems a little strange for me since the weather is much colder and sometimes overcast with low clouds here. But, I know our weather in Texas is much milder than many other parts of the USA.

Happy New Year! Keep sending these sunny sea and sky photos our way in 2015...
