~Joys of Christmas 2017~

Christmas is here and jumping
into the spirit of the holiday upon us.
Making cookies and decorating the house.

Celebrating the season in our garden.

Stan and I made Christmas topiaries this year with succulents.

Inside we hung a stained glass window in our living room,
 my dad made.

The stockings I made when the kids were little.

I created this sweet snowmen couple out of
 vintage salt and pepper shakers.
Looking forward to the holiday celebrations ahead!

~Planting Bulbs & Baking and Simple & Sweet Fridays #194~

It's that time of year to start planting your bulbs for Spring.
Every year we have so many Paper White Bulbs that multiply.
We separate them and plant them in new places.
I grow some in pots.
I love to see them sprout and bloom near the house.
We also have Amaryllis to add to the blooms in glass vases!
With a little water and patience,
you'll see flowers bloom in the Winter!
We also plant Elephant Garlic.
I like this variety because of the giant purple flower it shows!

Our pumpkins this year will have to be harvested soon.
I thought I'd let our children take them out for Thanksgiving.
They always like to be involved with the garden when they come home for a visit.
The garden is always changing.
I love the seasons because of that reason.
A few shopping finds for Christmas gifts!
I found a recipe for
Dark Chocolate Bark with Pistachios & Sea Salt at Martha Stewart.
I found all 3 ingredients that I needed at Trader Joe's.
8 oz. dark chocolate
1/4 cup shelled and chopped pistachios
1/4 teaspoon sea salt flakes

~It will be a wonderful dessert for Thanksgiving~
I'm starting to get out some of my Christmas decorations.
These are some snow globe jars I made last year with a
 Christmas scene without water.
Love the Vintage Skiers!!
I found a surprise shopping at Target today.
Little Copper Mugs.
I had to buy some for the kids when they come home for Thanksgiving.
Maybe a little sweet treat inside for them!!
