Vintage Shoes in the Garden

I always like the way flowers grow in an unexpected way.
When I tried growing flowers in some unique baby shoes it looked too cute.
I went to the thrift store on a hunt to find the cheapest shoes.
Stan drilled holes in the bottom of the shoes to have drainage in them.
It was fun seeing how many different shoes I could find.
Black, white, patterned and yellow.
The children's shoes and the white ones with the flowers.
How pretty...
I found the purses at different nurseries.
I stamped the spoon and added some bling.
I'm going to be adding these on my Etsy site.
I love how each one is unique.
It's as though they have their own personality.
Miniature flowers are the best.
It's fun going to the nursery to find what flower would fit each shoe.
When you display them all together they seem to fit perfectly.
You can use glass domes to add some whimsy.
Every girl needs some new shoes.
What girl doesn't like to go shopping...

  4. This is so fun, how on earth did you come up with such an idea as high heel shoes with plants? I've seen old boots but never shoes. The bags are a lovely touch too. xo

  5. This is all so cute and just love it to pieces, thanks so much for sharing... I love to garden but never really done anything such as this, it is nice to decorate our yards with furniture and nick nacks like our homes. I just find our summer season so short that by the time I did all of this, plus everything else I wouldn't be able to sit and enjoy! But, it's so nice to see it here and elsewhere.

  10. Absolutely charming! This reminds me of an idea I saw once. A women had an old wooden cross laying against a wall. On the cross was written "old Soles". There she hung old pairs of tennis and odd shoes. I thought it was so cute.

  18. Beautiful vignette for the garden. I have planted in shoes and boots, but usually stick with garden-type shoes, but now I might try some fancies. Loved those "purses"!

  19. This is just darling! I mean aside from the garden, these would be so cute for a number of women's event decorations, or women's teas. I often see interesting footwear at Goodwill and such, but I don't like to wear other people's shoes. So this would be a fun way to resue even what I wouldn't wear and shoes I want to get rid of. I just fell for the ones with the delicate little blooms. Then there are those adorable purses as! You are just too much!

  27. Hi, Jody...been on vacation, and playing catch-up on my blog reading. I LOVE the shoes...if only we could grow real flowers here in the desert! The little peat pots and silverware markers are adorable, as well. Heading back for more reading, once I grab another cup of coffee...Happy Summer - XOXO Tanya

  28. Such a cute idea. And they look wonderful. I have a pair of my grandfather's boots that has a plant in one and a ceramic kitten in the other by my back door. But never thought of using other kinds of shoes. Great job. Thanks for sharing at the All Star Block Party.
