~Harvesting Vegetables From Our Garden~

We have been planting lots of vegetables this last spring to eat this summer. I wanted to share with you photos of our harvest!
In this raised bed we have kale, beets and bunching onions!
Artichokes did well because of all the rain
we had this year in San Diego!

Our Potager Garden
We have lots of apples this year!
Our Golden Dorsett Apple espalier bearing fruit!
I had to make some pretty apple tarts!
Our first harvest from our zucchini!
Neighbors are loving the fresh produce!
We're growing different varieties of tomatoes in pots.
Had to try this Tomato Lemon Tart recipe from Bon Appetit.
Hope you're all enjoying your gardens this summer!

  1. We are just starting to get green peppers now, will be a week or two before anything else is ready! You are WAY ahead of us here in Chicagoland, and looks like a bumper crop! You should be able to plant another round of things for Fall.

    1. Hi Sandi,
Hope your garden is doing well. Thanks so much for stopping by! We always plant lots of squashes for a Fall crop. Love going outside in the garden and picking what we're going to have for dinner!!

  2. Jody seeing a post in my inbox put a huge smile on my face. Don't know if you don't post often anymore. I checked a few times and saw nothing .

Your garden is always gorgeous. Fresh produce has to be great. Your garden is even more spectacular than in the past.

Took a blogging break due to MS. Now on a new biologic I'm back. The improvements in my health are like a dream. We can't believe it.

    1. Hi Cindy,
So happy to be blogging again. My husband retired 3 years ago and his help in the garden definitely shows. I've had 2 knee replacements and I'm feeling back to my old self again. I'm so glad your health is doing well. Always love hearing from you!💝 Take Care

    1. Hi Linda,
We've been gardening for about 25 years now in this house. My husband is very good about making compost. There's nothing like fresh compost, it really makes a difference in our garden. I especially see it in our vegetables!! We bought a compost bin from Costco and it works well for us. Happy Gardening!!💝

  7. I always enjoy seeing pictures of your garden, Jody. Look at those artichokes! And there's nothing like home grown tomatoes, is there? You grew a nice bath of zucchini. My dad had a garden across the street from his house, and he grew zucchini and other veggies. My mom would cook them up that day. The tomato tart looks Yummy, and I wish I had one of those apple tarts right now to go with my tea. They look so good.

    Enjoy the Summer days, Jody.
