Sunday is always a relaxing day in the garden.
It was a perfect day to cut some of our
flowers and take some photos.
I love the different sizes and shades of yellow.
Taking photos up close of a sunflower always amazes me how gorgeous they are.
Even the stem is so unique.
I'm going to dry the ones I cut today and save them for the next planting.
I had to put some out for the birds.
I love how they grow straight up to the sky.
A little watercolor drawing.
Of course, I gave some to the chickens.
It was a hot day in San Diego,
so I treated the chickens to some figs too!!
They love their treats.
As I was feeding the chickens
the prettiest dragonfly flew by and posed for me.
It's wings look like stained-glass.
It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon in the garden.
Those sunflowers are so pretty. I love the color of yellow this time of year. Sunflowers grow straight up and then they follow the sun as it comes up and goes down. That has always been interesting to me how they do that. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers and your photos are so awesome!!
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are so pretty. We were noticing their intricate patterns the other day too:) Your chickens are going to get spoiled, you know!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love sunflowers. I planted a lot of seeds that I saved from last year plus a few new varieties. I think the flowers from my saved seeds have done better for some reason. Love your wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteI am nuts about sunflowers! Great shots ... and esp the one w/the boots.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of sunflowers. So bright and cheerful. The chickens are so cute with their treats. Have a great start to the new week ahead.

Your sunflowers are so pretty. I had a wonderful bush, but the darn gardener cut it back, guess he thought it was time to go. I sure was mad at him, but I should have cut it before he did.
ReplyDeleteThe girls looked like they were enjoying their treats - such pretty chickens. Looks like you are taming them.
Enjoy your week and thanks so much for sharing your beautiful photos.
